Maratha Mandal, Belgaum was established in the year 1931 and now has 37 institutions with faculties of Arts, Science, Commerce and also post graduate courses in Dental, Engineering, Pharmacy and Polytechnic.

Maratha Mandal's NGH Institute of Dental Sciences and Research Centre, started in the year 1992 with BDS course, now having courses in post graduation in 7 specialties, Ph.D, and implantology.

Maratha Mandal's Central Research Laboratory established in the year 2004, now shifted to a new premises of 10,500 Sq ft, with facilities for Oral microbiology, Molecular biology, Immunology, Cell culture and Natural products in Drug Discovery. MMCRL is recognized as the "Nodal reference center for research work in Oral microbiology" under Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore and also recognized as Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, New Delhi. Only centre in India for cultivation and identification of anaerobic bacteria from oral cavity having more than 34 MOUs with various universities, academic institutions, industrial setups and NITM (ICMR).

CRL of MM stands tall to felicitate academic growth by providing an extensive array of support to all the streams of sciences. We are open to new ideas and opportunities with a hope to build students to be open minded individuals. As a part of our commitment to excellence we have expanded our research opportunities for the medical fraternity. A CRL of these efforts to develop novel multidisciplinary collaborative teams to bridge the gap between basics sciences, clinical and technical departments.
